To download right click and select ‘save target as...’
Ensure ‘Guide Lines’ are turned on in your software.

Template09Step 1 - Page set-up

  • Open your graphics program
  • Select ‘new’ from the file menu
  • Use the following page settings:-
     
    • COLOUR MODE = 24bit RGB
    • PAGE WIDTH = 89.5mm
    • PAGE HEIGHT = 58.0mm
    • RESOLUTION = 400dpi
       
  • Click ‘OK
     

 

Step 2 - Guide linestemplate204
Guide lines are not essential but they are a very helpful aid to visual spacing.

  • Set the ACTUAL CARD SIZE guide lines at:-
    • Vertical: 2.0mm & 56.0mm
    • Horizontal: 2.0mm & 87.5mm
       
  • Set the TEXT LIMIT guide lines at:-
    • Vertical: 5.0mm & 53.0mm
    • Horizontal: 5.0mm & 84.5mm


 

Step 3 - Create your design
A few hints and tips to help you design a successful business card.

  • TEXT - Ensure any text such as your address or telephone numbers stay within the TEXT LIMIT guide lines.
  • FONTS - When designing your card try not to use too many different font types as this can make a card look untidy
  • GRAPHICS - If you use any graphics that go right up to the edge of the card, ensure that the graphic continues past the CARD SIZE guide line into the BLEED AREA right up to the edge of the page. This prevents white lines showing if the cut is very slightly out.
  • COLOURS - Make sure the colours you have used for your text and graphic ‘work’ with each other.
     

 

Step 4 - Save & Send

  • template303Save your work in your graphic programs own format (ie. Corel Draw is ‘.cdr’) this way you can make changes to it later and not have to redo all your work.
  • Then save or export your design to a 400dpi TIFF or high quality uncompressed JPG and send it to us via our online ordering system.
